AI must be understood in the context of Eudaemonia

AI must be understood in the context of Eudaimonia ~The Greater Good of Humans. Left in the hands of only corporations and including high tech globally, we will see the same cause-effect as at the beginning of the agricultural & Industrial revolution. It won’t be pretty!

What we saw in the agricultural and industrial revolutions was a rise in poverty. In both, we saw the establishment of the working poor.

In the Autonomous Revolution, where AI is at heart and is the driver, we will see highly educated people and the working poor become unemployed for more extended periods, if not for their entire lives.

Now is the time for people to realize that AI and Climate Change are two drivers that, left unchecked, will alter life on this planet. A lack of meaningful regulations on a global basis is now required; this is not something that only one or two countries can do by themselves; we need to start thinking and acting as one world, one universe seriously.

I have spent most of my adult life in the world of technology. I have worked for some of the most fantastic technology companies on this planet. I have seen the greater good technology can do for us as humans; I also know if technology is left unchecked, the greater good~Eudaimonia will slip away from the people it best serves and serve a small interest group of people and corporations.

We were created with a vocation to work. The goal should not be that technological progress replaces human work, which would be detrimental to humanity. Work is a necessity, part of the meaning of life on this earth, a path to growth, human development, and personal fulfillment.” ~ Pope Francis, Laudato Si’
