Where did Vatican II miss the mark? Well, sadly, the task of educating the faithful was left up to individual parishes. It was a focus on local optimum versus global optimum. Global optimization involves finding the optimal solution to problems that contain local optima. Is this a problem for all denominations? I am thinking so. Thoughts?
